His Excellency welcomed the US Secretary of State and his accompanying delegation,
Confirmed on the importance of Iraqi-US relations, especially in the field of war against Daesh terrorist gang as well as cooperation in the field of energy and economy, Pointing out that Iraq is a democratic country witnessing remarkable development and keen on the stability of the region and the establishment of normal relations with Arab, friendly countries and all neighboring countries.

In the meeting they discussed the US withdrawal from Syria; The US Secretary of State clarified that his country is determined to implement this resolution gradually and systematically, in cooperation and coordination with Iraq, underscoring the US support for the Iraqi government and its efforts to establish security and revitalize the Iraqi economy.
The US Secretary of State congratulated the Prime Minister on his assumption of the prime minister position and the pursuit of aspirations of the Iraqi people.
