His Excellency Prime Minister
Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's
delegation headed by Minister of
Commerce and Investment Majid
bin Abdullah Al Qasabi and the
delegation of the Iraqi-Saudi
Coordination Council.
His Excellency welcomed the
Saudi delegation, which includes
a large number of ministers and
heads of bodies, institutions
and companies in Saudi Arabia,
confirming the determination of
the Iraqi government to
establish the best relations
between the two peoples and the
brotherly countries of Iraq and
Saudi Arabia to achieve the good
and interests of the two
countries and constitutes a
cornerstone of relations in the
region on the basis of the many
interests that bring together
our peoples and countries,
Pointing to Iraq's keenness to
expand its relations with its
Arab and regional countries,
adopting a policy focused on the
many participants and
opportunities for broad
cooperation in all fields, which
aspiring to achieve them in the
ongoing talks in Baghdad and
during his upcoming visit to
Saudi Arabia.
For his part, the head of the
Saudi delegation and the large
delegation accompanying him to
visit Iraq and the Iraqi
Coordinating Council in Baghdad
expressed their happiness, which
embodies the serious desire to
develop Iraqi-Saudi relations.
Mr. Al Qasabi conveyed the
greetings of the Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques and the
Crown Prince to His Excellency
for the development of Iraq,
achieving more successful
development and stability, The
Saudi leadership's underscoring
that Iraq is not only a
neighboring country but a
brotherly country, we are keen
to cooperate with and appreciate
the sacrifices of its people.
In the meeting, they reviewed
the work of the Iraqi-Saudi
Coordination Council, the
ongoing discussions between the
ministers, officials of the two
countries in various sectors and
the progress witnessed in the
interests of the two countries.
The Saudi delegation includes
the ministers of culture,
environment, water, agriculture,
energy, industry and mineral
wealth, education, media, the
state for the Arab Gulf, the
General Authority for Customs,
Public Transport and Foreign
Trade; officials from the
Ministries of Interior, Foreign
Affairs and Intelligence, a
number of institutions and
companies, and the Saudi
ambassador in Baghdad.
The meeting was attended by the
Minister of Oil, Deputy Prime
Minister for Energy Thamer
Ghadhban, Ministers of Higher
Education and Scientific
Research, Industry and Minerals,
Culture, Planning and
Development Cooperation,
Agriculture, Transport,
Investment Authority, Central
Bank, Undersecretaries of
Ministries of Finance, Defense
and Interior and Secretary
General Council of Ministers and
a number of advisers, and the
Iraqi ambassador in Riyadh.
The meeting was also attended by
a number of businessmen and
investors from both countries.
