His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi and His Highness Emir of Qatar held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, During which they discussed the development of relations between the two countries, the files of economic, investment cooperation, Regional developments, the role of the two countries in enhancing security and stability in the region and defusing crises.

His Excellency Prime Minister confirmed that we seek to restore Iraq's historical role, and place in the Arab and regional environment, for Baghdad to be a house of peace, we are keen to establish the best relations with our Arab and Islamic surroundings and neighboring countries, which has turned our borders with them to areas of security and stability and the establishment of industrial cities, Pointing out that the Iraqi people have suffered long from the foreign wars that the former regime pushed in, which is still in it and we still bear the effects and pay the debts of the State of Kuwait, In addition to the terrorist attack, We have been able to overcome the difficulties, achieving security and stability for our people, we are moving today to rebuild the country, providing services through cooperation and exchange of interests with the Arab and regional countries which we have many common interests.

His Excellency also commended the state of Qatar and the wisdom of Qatari leadership in facing difficult circumstances, confirming Iraq's keenness to build relations of cooperation with Qatar in different fields, especially in the areas of economic, construction, investment and services that our people look forward to after the great improvement in the security situation.


For his part, the Emir of the State of Qatar said: "I welcome you and the members of the delegation, and this visit, which we are honored for, Iraq has a special place in the Arab and Islamic worlds, We are aware of the size of the damage, the long wars and the difficult circumstances that have passed through Iraq, the most recent of which is the war against Daesh and we thank God for the development of the situation in Iraq and its stability.


His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, addressing His Excellency Prime Minister: Your presence is important to develop our bilateral relations and increasing cooperation in economic and investment fields, we are looking for more and are ready to expand investments, working together to provide facilities for citizens and businessmen in both countries.

His Highness said: We thank God for what Iraq is witnessing of security stability and the elimination of sectarianism, and that written for the Iraqi leadership, Noting that relations between the two countries are historical and extended to the two peoples and the common tribes, We hope for greater cooperation to serve the interests of our two countries and the security and stability of the region.

The Emir of the State of Qatar expressed his full readiness to cooperate with Iraq in all fields that serve the interests of both peoples and fraternal countries.


The Iraqi-Qatari committee held an extensive meeting in the presence of members of both delegations, during which they discussed ways of economic, investment, cultural, scientific, and educational, sports, construction, reconstruction, oil, electricity development and facilitating the granting of mutual entry visas.

At the end of the meeting, memoranda of understanding were signed in the cultural, scientific and educational fields.
