His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi confirmed that we are proud of strategic partnership, political and economic relations with the Russia Federation.

This came during a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov and his accompanying delegation.

His Excellency added that we are looking forward to getting benefit from the Russian experiences and its capabilities in the economy, industry, agriculture, military, and Fields of energy, oil, and gas.

Pointing out that Iraq sees with appreciation to the Russian role in strengthening security and stability in the region, and to the Russia's stand with Iraq in its war against terrorism, Stressing that the goal of moving to strengthen the industries and increase production set by the Iraqi government in the priorities of its work and requires joint cooperation to develop this important field, which provides a lot of employment opportunities.

From his part, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia underscoring that his country is keen to boost its relations with Iraq and the number of Russian companies operating in Iraq is increasing, Noting that his country has serious work to cooperate in increasing trade exchange, industrial fields, cars assembly and joint production on Iraqi soil, Construction, and modernization of power plants, oil, and gas, agriculture, transport, communications, water, and infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, officials on the military and technical, And the Russian ambassador in Iraq, and attended by the Iraqi side national security adviser and a number of advisers.
