His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received, in his office this day, British Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox.

His Excellency confirmed that Iraqi government focus on developing economy, investment, and others vital sectors after achieving victory and opening streets, roads, highways, lifting concrete walls which that shows Baghdad new face, referring to the Iraqi stability that gives big opportunity to get benefit from British experiences in developing Iraqi Economy , middle and small companies, the agriculture sector, which is witnessing the doubling of agricultural production because of the abundance of water, His Excellency commended the U.K. government for supporting Iraqi vital infrastructure projects, which is hoped to be covered by the agency British export financing.

The British minister expressed his satisfaction with Iraq's security and social stability during his visit to Iraq in a clear and significant manner, reiterating the British government's desire to strengthen its relations with Iraq, increase investments, providing expertise in financial, legal fields and job creation.


The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of the British Export Finance Agency, Her Majesty the Queen's Commissioner for Trade, the Director of the Department of International Trade, the International Trade Advisor at the British Ministry of International Trade and the British Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting was attended by Iraqi side, the Minister of Commerce, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Ambassador of the Department of Europe in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of advisers.
