His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd AL-Mahdi received this Saturday High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the EU Commission Federica Mogherini.
His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi confirmed that Iraq sees the EU as a key partner, vital steps have been made and we still working in that direction, Pointing out that Iraq wants to encourage European investment in Iraq and increase cooperation in all fields, Politically, culturally, economically and socially.
His Excellency clarified that Iraq's Triumph over Daesh was in heavy price, that victory was important to Iraq, region and the World including EU, The Major countries should assist Iraq because it is a country just emerging from wars and it's now rising stronger and effective as a long stabilize state. The criteria in the classification of international relations should consider Iraq as a country that began to settle after long wars, we, therefore, need some kind of positive distinguishing.
HRVP Mogherini underscoring that she has seen Baghdad which is different than the previous visit, that there is a great change for the better, underscoring that the main objective of her visit to Baghdad is to emphasize the European Union's support for Iraq politically, morally and financially, as well as to show solidarity with it, adding that Iraq is one of the best among the EU's partners, commended Iraq's successful balance foreign policy in the region, urging for this policy continuation.
HRVP Mogherini pointed out that the Iraqi-EU positions are identical and have similar views to the region, well exerting more collaboration efforts would help to stabilize the region and The World, underscoring that Iraq is a success story in the region and the EU wants to continue to support in promoting that success story.
