His Excellency prime Minister
Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received, in
his official office today, the
Special Envoy of the Russian
President to the Middle East and
the States of Africa, Deputy
Foreign Minister Mikhail
Baghdanov, who He conveyed the
greetings of Russian President
Vladimir Putin and Prime
Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and
the Russian leadership's desire
to develop relations with Iraq
in the political, economic,
military, energy, oil and gas
projects.
His Excellency Prime Minister
confirmed the pride of Iraq and
its people on relations with
Russia and the status of Russia,
commended the Russian leadership
for supporting Iraq, expanding
cooperation in all fields,
noting the development of the
situation in Iraq, its stability
and the turnout of many official
leaders and delegations to
Baghdad, calling for The holding
of the Iraqi-Russian council in
Baghdad which that will expand
relations and develop energy,
oil and gas projects, as well as
the growing political and
economic cooperation between the
two friendly countries.
The Russian special Envoy
expressed the satisfaction of
the Russian leadership for
achieving security, stability
and for the Iraqi government's
direction towards development
and economic prosperity, Russia
is looking forward for further
cooperation and the continued
work of Russian companies and
projects in Iraq.
His Excellency Prime Minister
received a letter from the
Deputy Prime Minister for
Security, Defence and space
Affairs, Mr. Yuri Barisov, who
heads the Russian side of the
Joint Coordinating Council,
which will hold its works in
Baghdad at the end of this
month.
The meeting was attended by the
Chairman of the Board of
Directors General of the Company
(gas bromine) Alexander Dewkov
and several members of its board
of directors, where he reviewed
the investment work carried out
by the company in Iraq 10 years
ago and without interruption and
its desire to continue
investment projects for the
development of oil and gas
fields, as attended by the
President Russian Federal
Commission for Military
Technical Cooperation Alexei
Frontlin, Russian ambassador to
Baghdad.
The meeting was attended by a
number of officials from the
Ministries of oil and defense
and advisors.
