His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received, in his official office this day, The Islamic Republic of Iran Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh and his accompanying delegation.


His Excellency Prime Minister confirmed the deep relations between the two countries, the two neighboring peoples and the importance of strengthening them in areas that serve the interests of the two peoples, foremost of which is cooperation in the fields of oil and gas.

For his part, the Iranian Minister of petroleum expressed his country's pride in the level of relations with Iraq and the aspiration to develop them, and hoped to achieve more cooperation and to meet the needs of Iraq's gas, He also congratulated His Excellency on assuming the Prime Minister position of the government and work on the stability and prosperity of the Iraqi economy.

The meeting was attended by Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban, a number of officials and advisors in the oil, gas and economy sectors in both countries.
