His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has held an emergency meeting with a number of the House of Representatives for the province of Basra in the presence of Governor As'ad al-Eidani.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the conditions of the Basra province service and recent developments.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister has affirmed the determination of the Council of Ministers to address the problem of clean water and the solutions discussed during the past few weeks.

As well as decisions issued during consultations and meetings held both in the province of Basra or in Baghdad and the latest expanded meeting last Thursday and the decisions of the Council of Ministers today, which included immediate orders and other actions during the weeks and months to come.

In order to activate the decisions mentioned in the decision of the Council of Ministers on this day, Mr. As'ad al-Eidani and local government with the delegation of administrative and financial powers of the province of Basra have been entrusted to implement those decisions in the Governor of Basra, granting the necessary exemptions of the instructions in force according to specific timetables to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of approved projects, including in particular desalination projects, liquidation, rehabilitation of water distribution networks and the extension of new transmission lines to provide sufficient quantities of water for different regions.

On the other hand, the security situation in Basra was reviewed and the participants stressed the need to calm the situation, investigate what happened while refused the attacks and the destruction of public property.

the participants have called Basra's residents to cooperate with the security forces to detect the offensive elements in order to make no chance for them, while should provide the conditions for launching and implementing projects that were approved at the same time praising the high discipline of citizens to express their legitimate demands.
