His Excellency Prime Minister Dr.Haider al-Abadi has received The Speaker of Iraq’s parliament Mohammed al-Halbousi.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Prime Minister has congratulated Mr. Mohamed al-Halbousi on his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He has expressed his hope that the next phase will see more cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities in the interests of the Iraqi people. His Excellency has urged the Speaker of the House of Representatives to work to accelerate the completion of laws of priority that support the trend towards the reconstruction and stability of Iraq and achieve the aspirations of its people and meet the legitimate demands.

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives has assured the importance of preserving the national gains achieved for the Iraqi people, unity, the preservation of sovereignty and national wealth.

The Speaker has noted that the new parliament is keen on strengthening national unity and co-existence among Iraqis, cooperating with the executive authority and working to maintain Iraq's relations with its Arab, regional and international environment in a way that preserves the security and stability of the region and the interests of its Nations.

During the meeting, they have reaffirmed the importance of adherence to the rules and the constitutional timing and the need to accelerate the formation of the Iraqi government and join efforts to develop services, the reconstruction of all provinces, In order to meet the demands of its citizens.

They have also stressed on the preservation of the unity of Iraq and its people, which counter Daesh terrorists gangs, who sacrificed, they did win over terrorism and sectarian by their unity and the bravery of security forces.
