The National Security Council held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi.

they discussed in The meeting the issues on the agenda, especially the assessment of the situation in Basra such as security, economic and political.

His Excellency Prime Minister confirmed that Basra suffered a lot of wars, services lack, water pollution and other problems despite of being it's the first oil production, pointing out the importance of concerted efforts and considering of the Basra's resident suffers in order to improve their economic situation, Reassuring that political competition should focus on maintaining the security, stability of the province, the interests of citizens and respond to legitimate demands.

The Council discussed the method of removing abuses on the lands allocated for investment projects and providing protection for them, as well as understanding between the Federal Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Interior of the Region in combating all forms of crime and raising the efficiency of security personnel.
