H.E. Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haider Al-Abadi chairs a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security

His Excellency Prime Minister, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has chaired, on Sunday chaired, a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security.

During the meeting, they have discussed the security situation, the pursuit of terrorist cells, the intelligence effort strengthening its in order to eliminate terrorism and its pockets.

Concerning the relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the depth of the relations between the two countries, the great interests that bind them and the importance of preserving them were emphasized.

The Council has rejects the misinterpretations and politicized statements of the official stance of Iraq, which condemned the policy of starvation of peoples, which was expressed by His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi.

The Council has assured the importance of maintaining distinguish relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

They have also discussed the control of the Iraqi-Turkish borders, the decision of the Ministerial Council for National Security to control the Iraqi-Turkish border through the Border Operations Command and prevent the infiltration of any groups through them.

They have discussed the draft of establishing a unified national emergency number which allows the citizen to contact it to report the risks or any incident to immediately distribute the communication to the concerned authorities.



They have also discussed the work of the Maritime Force Command and the means to enhance its work, its needs and the obstacles it faces to overcome it. The Marine Force Commander presented a detailed report on the work of the Command.

The Council has voted on the cooperation agreement with the regionally integrated multi-hazard early warning system and submitted it to the Council of Ministers.

They have discussed the weapons storage process and forming a committee to examine and monitor the storage process.
