His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received Today the United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and his accompanying delegation.

His Excellency Prime Minister confirmed during the meeting the importance of developing mutual relations between Iraq and the United States in all fields, assuring the need to expand cooperation in the fields of energy, oil and economic files which set by the Iraqi government in the forefront of its priorities to achieve the growth, prosperity of the Iraqi economy and the optimal investment of natural resources, Pointing out that the stability of Iraq after the defeat of Daesh provides a great work opportunity for the international companies and stimulate investment activity in all Iraqi provinces.

For his part, the US Secretary of Energy confirmed his country's support for the Iraqi government in all fields, its attitude to promote stability, reconstruction of Iraq, the development of the economy, Especially in energy projects, its readiness to contribute to the development, to support the sectors of electricity and oil in accordance with the plans, directions and priorities of the Iraqi government.
The US Energy Secretary is accompanied by a delegation of about 50 businessmen and officials.
The meeting was attended by oil and electricity ministers and a number of officials and advisers.
