The Supreme Council for counter Corruption has been held its periodic meeting, Today on Monday, chaired by His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi; all members have participated in the meeting.

Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has confirmed on the continuation of the approach adopted by the government in countering corruption and the prosecution of corrupters, pointing to the importance of resolving corruptions files and the verification of the accuracy of information and to hold corrupters, who cause theft of public money or waste it, accountable.
His Excellency has viewed the detailed presented about of the public inspectors' offices the level of performance, which provided independently by the Public Integrity Commission and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, he has directed the offices of the public inspectors to have outstanding training courses to avoid the weaknesses revealed by the evaluation results.
The During the meeting, The Supreme Council for counter Corruption has informed on the fund saved by the offices of the inspectors, which resulted from exposing corruption or stopping the waste of public money, that represents more than ten times what the offices themselves spend within their financial budget.
Also The Council has viewed the achievements made by the national team in the field to follow up the recommendations of international investigation experts, which revealed cases of corruption, embezzlement, and forgery, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi has directed to continue to follow up these cases and support the work of the national team in the field in order to ensure a transparent administrative investigation.
His Excellency has directed The Supreme Council for counter Corruption to conclude the files in its possession and lifting the obstacles and difficulties that prevent the resolution of many of the delayed cases to recover money and bring the corrupters to justice.
