His Excellency Prime Minister Dr.Haider Al-Abadi chaired Supreme National Committee for water.

They discussed the yesterday's earthquake effects on the dams which hit the country and gave a complete study, where it has stressed that the status of the dams safe and there is no danger concerning its structures.

The committee has been instructed to continue monitoring Darbandakhan dam to ensure the safety of its basic structure.

The water reservoirs and water resources policy for the next phase and irrigation strategy of the agricultural plan have been discussed.
They discussed water share violations and the importance of taking further measures to stop that because of this negative impact on water share on the rest of the provinces.
