Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office on Saturday the Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Lodewijk Asscher and Defense Minister Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert and their accompanying delegation.

During the meeting they discussed strengthening of relations between the two countries in various fields and the war on Daesh terrorist gangs and the situation in the region.

Mr. Asscher congratulated Dr. Al-Abadi and on the victories achieved in Ramadi, and the continuation of the support of the Netherlands to Iraq in the areas of training, arming and in the war against terrorism because Daesh poses a threat to the whole world, including the Netherlands, and it is necessary to stand with Iraq to dry up the sources of terrorism and smuggling networks and to stop the funding.

Mr. Asscher praised the reformist steps of the government and that his country is ready to support Iraq in the fields of agriculture and water management.
