Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office on Tuesday Senator Jack Reed, a member of the Armed Services Committee in the US Senate, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting they discussed the war on Daesh terrorist gangs and victories achieved in Ramadi, and the situation in the region in addition to the challenges faced by Iraq in various fields.

Dr. Al-Abadi said that our armed forces have achieved a great victory against Daash gangs and proved good readiness to defeat the terrorist organisation.

He added that the increase in sectarian polarization in the region would be in favour of Daesh gangs and it is necessary to pay attention to this matter.

Senator Reed Park congratulated the victories achieved in Ramadi and said that your leadership contributed much to this victory and succeeded in bringing together the various components of Iraq and push towards the reform of the country, noting that the United States supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Iraq.
