Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi congratulated the success achieved by the players of the Olympic team in qualifying for the next Olympics, noting that this achievement confirms the ability of the Iraqi citizens to overcome the difficulties and achieve success in the toughest conditions.

He said during the ceremony honouring the Olympic team that their feat represents the success of Iraq and is complementary to the victories achieved by our heroes in the armed forces against Daesh and is a message that Iraq is united and all attempts to sow divisions will not succeed.

The Prime Minister that there are difficulties facing the country represented by the collapse of oil prices, security, economic and others, but on the other hand there are achievements being realised including your success in sport and the liberation of our land and other achievements, but there are those who try to disappoint the citizen with subversive agendas.

Dr. Haider Al-Abadi said Iraq will be stronger and we have strategies and action plans that will enable the advancement of the country.
