Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office on Wednesday the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Mr. Shinichi Kitaoka and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting they discussed the implementation of the Basra Water Project and other projects carried out by the Agency and providing consultancy and expertise to Iraq in the fight against corruption.

The Prime Minister thanked JICA for its support to Iraq and work for the implementation of projects and capacity building, calling for more efforts to complete the projects carried out by the team, especially the water project of Basra, as well as thanking Japan for its efforts in providing support for the displaced.

The Japanese delegation expressed its readiness to provide more support for Iraq in the field of consulting, expertise and support for the international effort to fight Daesh terrorist gangs.Prime Minister's Media Office
