Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office on Sunday the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting they discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, trade, tourism and the situation in the region.

Mr. Sardar congratulated the successes achieved against Daesh gangs, praising the speech of Dr. Al-Abadi in the parliaments conference today on the reliance of the Iraqis on themselves to fight Daesh which is similar to what Pakistan is doing in the fight against terrorism.

Emphasis was placed on the need to resume direct flights between Iraq and Pakistan for to increase tourist exchanges and visits between the two peoples where Dr. Al-Abadi promised to study this issue soon.
