Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi: the unity of the citizens of the province of Diyala was stronger than the terrorist gang of Daesh and its underlings

Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi said that the unity of the citizens of the province of Diyala was stronger than the terrorist gang of Daesh and its underlings, and that the attempt to stir up sectarian strife failed thanks to our heroic forces and the cooperation of the people of Diyala and the sons of the patriotic tribes.

The PM held a meeting upon his arrival in the province of Diyala today with officials and military commanders in the province at the headquarters of the Tigris Operations Command which was attended by the governor of Diyala and commander of operations, and a second meeting was held in the governorate building.

The Prime Minister praised the cooperation of the people of Diyala and tribes, especially in the district of Miqdadiyah and their united stand with our security forces, and paid tribute to the solidarity between the different components and people of Miqdadiyah and their success in thwarting sectarian strife.

He Issued strict directives for the need to arrest the aggressors who attacked mosques and public property and bring them to justice to receive their just punishment and prevent the recurrence of any such breach and dealing with strength and determination with terrorists, murderers and instigators of sectarian strife, and to invest all available resources in the province.

The PM called for exerting maximum effort to uncover the cowardly terrorist crime that targeted journalists in the province.

He listened to a detailed explanation from officials and security commanders in the province on the reality of maintaining services and security, calling for greater vigilance to protect citizens and the extension of security and stability across the province.

The PM also toured the market in the city of Baquba and spoke with citizens and shopkeepers.
