Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi met in his office on Thursday the head of the Integrity Commission Mr. Hassan Al-Yasiri.

During the meeting they discussed the mechanisms of action undertaken in the Integrity Commission to fight corruption within the reform packages and the importance of further efforts to reduce and eliminate corruption, in addition to a number of other files, where Mr. Al-Yasiri made a presentation on the Commission's work and what has been accomplished during the last period and cases it is investigating.

The Prime Minister called on the Integrity Commission to exert greater effort to resolve the cases in its possession, in addition to tightening procedures and monitoring to reduce incidence of corruption in state institutions.

The PM said that the government since it was formed had a priority to fight against corruption and was part of the reforms packages that was launched, which eats away at the body of the Iraqi state, and needs a multiplied effort and continuous work by everyone, especially by the Integrity Commission, to fight it and hold the corrupt accountable.
