Prime Minister, Dr. Haider al-Abadi, held an urgent meeting on Friday evening with the Minister of Electricity and ministry staff to follow up on the default of power and weakening of the electricity system with the need to make further efforts to increase the hours of processing power to citizens and the fight against corruption.
Dr. al-Abadi demanded the employees of the Ministry of Electricity to be present in their locations to repair the damages, increase productivity, and fully implement the PM order to incorporate residences of all officials in the scheduled cuts.
H.E stressed the right of citizens to express their views and call upon all officials to listen to their demands.
H.E. thanked the citizens and protesters for the respect they show to public order and the expression of their opinions in a civilized manner. PM also thanked the security forces that protected the demonstrators and maintained security while dealing with citizens with respect and in a professional way which enhances the cohesion between citizens and security forces which fight terrorism and preserve citizens' security.
H.E also called on all ministers and officials to be in the field with the citizens to acquaint with their problems and find quick solutions for them.
