H.E. PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office today the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohamed Jawad Dhareef and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed the political and security conditions in Iraq and the region in addition to promoting bilateral relations in different fields besides the threat posed by Da'esh on the region.

H.E. welcomed the Iranian nuclear agreement referring that the economic sanctions are considered a crime against Iranian people referring that "we the Iraqis suffered a lot from the sanctions imposed previously, thus, living peacefully and avoiding conflicts will be to the interest of the region because the enemies want to divide people and spread sectarianism.

H.E. added that "Iraq has distinguished relations with Iran as the latter is one of the countries which supported us against Da'esh, and the international community now is more aware about the danger of these terrorist groups".

On his part Mr. Dhareef commended the relations between the two countries in different fields referring that the last visit of Dr. Al-Abadi to Tehran resulted in taking new decisions to the interest of the two people in many sectors.
