The Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi stressed his continuation of reforms and their implementation according to specific schedules, noting that some of the reforms impacted a group of corrupt people, as well as the implementers of organized crimes, and they will try to block these reforms measures, but we will not allow them.
While presiding over a meeting of the security and military leaders in the presence of the Ministers of Defence and Interior, the PM mentioned that there are those who want to spoil the demonstrations and infiltrate the protesters to cause a rift between the citizens and the security forces, so we must beware those trying to poison this relationship through collision with the security forces, but we have issued an order that the collision with the citizens a red line, but at the same time protect our citizens from these infiltrators.
Dr. Haider al-Abadi said the state has a war and has demonstrations and that does not happen in other states and we are with the people and we have initiated reforms and will not back down from them and there is also a fight against corruption, including that related to the security institutions,where corruption has decreased significantly.
The Prime Minister said that we are moving ahead with the state and reforms despite the financial crisis represented by the decline of oil prices dramatically over the past few days but we have taken measures and a set of decisions by pumping money into the economy with loans, for the housing and agriculture sectors.
Dr. Haider Al-Abadi stressed the activation of the intelligence effort to uncover the infiltrators and outlaws and as we support the right to demonstrate peacefully, we are with the right of other citizens to live in security and not to encroach upon their property and cut the roads to them.
The PM instructed the prevention of gunfire at demonstrations in the air or overhead because the gunfire should be directed to terrorism and criminals and armed groups.
