Prime Minister and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haider Al-Abadi saluted the millions in the crowds that went towards the holy city of Karbala from our people and the Islamic countries to commemorate the tragedy of the tenth of Muharram, and to renew the pledge of sacrifice and redemption, and to remain on the principles of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him and his companions and his honoured family, who sacrificed their lives in the eternal battle of Karbala, which remained a beacon for revolutionaries throughout history.
He said that the commemoration of Ashura this year coincided with impressive victories like the liberation of the city of Baiji, and large areas, and significant progress toward the city of Ramadi to liberate it, and that our sons ins the armed forces and the popular mobilisation and tribes are determined to cleanse the land of Iraq from the Daesh terrorist gang.
The PM gave his sincere thanks and appreciation to the security services in the various provinces for the great efforts made in order to protect the pilgrims.
The Prime Minister also thanked the management of the Hussaini and Abbasi Shrines and ministries and state institutions, and local government in the province of Karbala, and the security and service agencies in it, which took on the task of the service and reception and the accommodation of pilgrims and to protect them, praising the great cooperation between the pilgrims and the processions and security services.
The Prime Minister instructed government and security agencies to continue their work and to facilitate the return of all pilgrims to their homes and provide the necessary transport services.
