H.E. PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office today the U.S. minister of defense Mr. Ashton Carter and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed promoting military and security cooperation, updates of the security conditions, and the achieved victories in liberating Anbar and the rest fronts.
Dr. Al-Abadi mentioned that "our military forces are achieving victories against the enemy and Ramadi will be liberated soon", referring that the forces on ground are Iraqi ones and we need training and armament, also we have the full will to achieve victory and liberating every inch of Iraq.
H.E. indicated that the cooperation between the two countries comes within the strategic framework agreement which is not limited to security aspects only; rather it covers economic, trade, cultural and educational fields also.
On his part, the minister of defense commended the leadership of Dr. Al-Abadi, referring to the U.S. support to maintain stability and security in Iraq and indicating that the Iraqi forces have the determination and capacity to defeat Da'esh.
