Prime minister, Dr. Haider al-Abadi chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers and presented an overview about the security situation in the areas of confrontations with the criminal Daesh gangs, stating that the liberation operations are going according to the plans set forth.
His Excellency briefed the COM on the outcomes of the last visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
COM discussed some issues on the agenda; calling people and farmers to rationalize the potable and irrigation waters, also to fully comply with the assigned water allocation to reduce waste according to the instruction of the Agricultural Guidance. COM also called local governments to shoulder responsibility in abiding by their governmental water allocations and take deterrent measures against violators.
The council took a number of decisions, mainly; adopting recommendations of the economic committee to protect specific national products to activate the private sector; approving measures and policies to support the private sector submitted by the National Expert Group.
COMSEC will announce, soon after, decisions passed by COM in its regular 44th session of Tuesday.
