Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Haider Al-Abadi visited on Friday evening, the city of Baiji, liberated by the heroes of the armed forces of the army and police and the popular mobilisation and the sons of the tribes.
He visited Baiji refinery, which has been fully liberated and held a meeting the security and military leadership of the army and police and the popular mobilisation.
Dr. Al-Abadi also visited the special forces, and attended a Hussaini commemoration held by Mr. Hadi al-Amiri on the occasion of Asura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him and his companions in the battle of Karbala.
The Prime Minister congratulated, during his meeting with the leadership of the army, the police and the popular mobilisation, the victories against Daesh terrorist gangs, which have been achieved thanks to the heroic synergy between the Iraqi people, and Iraqis have proved today they are fighting, and from all communities, in order to liberate their country from this danger and its deviant thought.
Dr. Al-Abadi said that the Baiji battle proved the ability of the Iraqis and their steadfastness to liberate their cities and seven months of battle witnessed fierce fighting, but we when we decided to liberate it our heroes achieved impressive victories over the enemy.
He said that our heroic fighters proved they are on the path of Hussein, peace be upon him, and we are at the anniversary of his death, because they refused injustice and fought the enemies of their country, those who hold deviant thoughts who are waiting to cause harm to its children.
Dr. Al-Abadi congratulated all our people on these victories and gave tribute to the mothers of the martyrs and for their wives and families which sacrificed the lives of their children for their country and their sanctities, and confirmed that we promise that we will not abandon them and will give them their rights because without their sacrifices and their pure blood we could not have had these victories.
