H.E. PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi met during his visit to Iran the President of Expediency Discernment Council of the System Sheikh Ali Rafsanjani.

Dr. Al-Abadi said that Iraq is moving in the right direction in spite of the security and economic difficulties, referring to the early support of Iran to Iraq in its fight against terrorism, and affirming that the world should take measures to end terrorism in Iraq which threatens the region and the whole world. Moreover, H.E. mentioned that all components of Iraq are contributing in the fight against Da'esh.

On his part, Sheikh Rafsanjani asserted that Iran is determined to keep the unity of Iraq and the cohesion of its people in addition to the common interests of the two countries.
