H.E. PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sheikh Hasan Ruhani. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and the terrorist threat on Iraq and the region.
H.E. said that terrorism not only threatens Iraq but the security of the region and the world, and it requires the contribution of all countries to fight Da'esh including Iran, and the Iraqi people appreciate its support in this war. H.E. also asserted Iraq's determination to strengthen the relations with Iran in the political, economic, commercial, and cultural fields. Moreover, the Iraqi government is working through the related ministries and committees to follow up and facilitate common projects between Iraq and Iran.
