The Prime Minister and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haider al-Abadi endorsed the investigative board's resolutions on the withdrawal of Anbar Operations Command and the entities thereto from the city of Ramadi leaving their positions without orders to draw back.
The Investigative Board listened to the testimonies of more than a hundred officers, commanders and personnel and their report covered the events in Ramadi and the areas surrounding the city for the period from 14 to 17 May 2015.
The report also included recommendations to advance performance of the troupes by taking advantage of the mistakes committed so far. The Committee decided to refer a number of commanders to the military justice for leaving their positions without a warrant in contrary to instructions not to withdraw. It also contained orders issued by the Ministries of Defense and Interior to form investigative boards against those who had left their equipment and weapons at the battlefield.
