The Council of Ministers held on Tuesday its thirty-sixth regular session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi. The Council discussed the developments in the military and security situation, and a number of issues on its agenda.

The Council approved the draft bill to repeal the law on the posts of Vice-President of the Republic, and its submission to the Council of Representatives, based on the provisions of Articles 61 / item I and 80 / item II of the Constitution.

The Council also decided that the Ministry of Agriculture adopt the support by 80 percent of the total cost of the seeds of wheat and barley crops.

The Council of Ministers agreed to withdraw the draft laws sent to the Council of Representatives by the previous government for the purpose of reviewing them.

The Council also approved the proposals for delayed payment mechanisms to address the subject of ongoing and stalled or delayed projects due to lack of funding.
