H.E. PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi called for the UN to consider the recruitment of children by Da'esh as a crime against humanity. H.E. asserted in a speech he delivered at the International Conference to End Child Recruitment, that this conference is a message to all countries of the world to pay attention to the danger of child recruitment because childhood is a white page which should not be exploited by killing, slaughter and bombing and we have to stand united to end the existence and ideology of Da'esh. H.E. added that the crimes of Da'esh are committed by the members of Al-Ba'ath party who became leaders in Da'esh, referring that we in Iraq are able to end this suffering.
H.E. also called for the international community and the UN to seriously help ending this suffering indicating that the society is facing a dangerous challenge and this ideology should be eradicated. Dr. Al-Abadi said: everyone should work to protect childhood and society, as Da'esh is recruiting children systematically and sends a message of terror and fear and there should be a strong will to face them. Moreover, Iraq is the only country which fights Da'esh on ground and achieving victories.
H.E. clarified that the government in Iraq opened a new page of relations with countries and froze all differences to face these challenges referring that there is about 40 suicidal members enter Iraq every month.
Dr. Al-Abadi appreciated the Fatwa of Supreme Marji'iya regarding the sufficient Jihad which protected the society and the country, indicating that we in Iraq are fighting for the sake of our country and to prevent evil from coming to the Gulf states and the region, and we are able to end the war, however, this requires time and sacrifices and the support of the international community could shorten the time of confrontation.
