Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi held on Wednesday an expanded meeting with ministers and MPs and the governor and members of the Nineveh provincial council to discuss preparations for the process of liberating the entire province of Nineveh.
The Prime Minister listened to proposals and criticisms and the demands of the members that were discussed and are to be implemented according to priorities.
Dr. Haider Al-Abadi said that the intent to liberate Nineveh province is very firm and that the leadership of the operations for the liberation of Nineveh is in Makhmour, and we need to mobilize the people in Nineveh in order to create the appropriate atmosphere for the start of the liberation through a solid plan to reduce the number of combatant and civilian casualties.
The Prime Minister said that most of those inside Mosul do not accept the presence of Daesh but do not have the ability to get rid of these gangs, pointing out that we have not forgotten the displaced and raped from the Yazidis and others, and that is a disgrace to all of the terrorist gangs and the countries that allowed Daesh to enter Iraq.
He called for unity between all components and communities, regarding it as the most important thing required by the battle for the liberation of the province, noting that Daesh gangs follow the policy of intimidation as Nineveh did not fall through battles but through intimidation and psychological warfare.
Dr. Haider al-Abadi referred to the importance of gaining control of the situation after the liberation in order that chaos does not occur, stressing that demands have priorities because of the financial challenges that we face.
The Prime Minister said that the government is proceeding with decentralization and is committed to it and it is necessary for the province to maintain a role in the security.
