Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi received in his office on Tuesday a delegation from the US Congress, led by Senator Mitch McConnell, Majority Leader in the Senate.

During the meeting they discussed the military and security operations in Anbar and Salahudin, and the victories achieved in the battlefield, in addition to the reforms that were launched, and the training and arming of the Iraqi armed forces, and providing support for Iraq in many sectors.

The Delegation from Congress expressed their support and admiration for the reforms undertaken in spite of the difficult circumstances Iraq is going through, and their willingness to provide assistance in the area of economic reform and provide expertise, in addition to the continuation of international support for Iraq in its efforts to liberate its territories and return displaced persons.

The Delegation from Congress included Senator Tom Cotton and Senator Mike Rounds and Senator Joni Ernst and Congressman Andy Barr in addition to the joint operations commander Gen. MacFarland and US Ambassador Stuart Jones.
