H.E. PM Dr.Haider Al-Abadi received in his office the regional director of the World Bank Mr. Fareed Belhah.

The meeting discussed the progress of the government reforms in the economic, financial, and tax fields besides facing the challenges in Iraq caused by the global dropping of oil prices, in addition to the projects of the World Bank in Iraq especially in Al-Basra province.

H.E. emphasized on creating job opportunities in the sectors of housing, agriculture, livestock, tourism and other fields to reduce unemployment, referring that the government continues reforming the Iraqi economy and supporting the private sector and avoiding sole dependence on oil production.

On his part, the World Bank delegation affirmed its readiness to provide support to Iraq in a number of projects which requires high coordination with the government.
