Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haidar al-Abbadi stressed that the national unity is essential to the national security and to confront Daash and defeat it. Al-Abadi stated that "the competition between the parties should not affect the unity among Iraqis, therefore we sought to address and resolve a lot of controversies and inherited crises and we made significant reforms in the state and military institutions in particular.
His Excellency stated in a lecture on the impact of the State Administration and the National Security in Mesopotamia Center of Military Studies today: "Security does not take place on the basis of numbers but quality and performance, thus a correlation exists between the National Security and the State Administration in the political, economic and social fields."
PM talked about challenges facing Iraq and achievements of our brave forces in the battlefield, noting that the Daash can no longer recruit fighters from the occupied areas, therefore it resorted to recruit foreign fighters to compensate for the significant shortage in the affiliates and fighters, adding that Daesh defeat is inevitable in front of the high readiness of our victorious forces and the popular mobilization which pay sacrifices on the road to victory.
