Iraqi government: Sending Trainers and Weapons is a Welcomed Step though a Bit Late

November 8 2014

The Iraqi Government have reiterated that they have requested the International Coalition to contribute to the training and equipping of the Iraqi forces to help combating Daesh terrorist gangs. The International Coalition had agreed to do that and four to five training camps were chosen in Iraq for that matter, and they begun sending trainers accordingly.
Despite the fact that this step is a bit late, but we welcome it as it comes in the right context.
At the same time, we emphasize that the Iraqi tribes are being provided with weapons exclusively by the Iraqi government in the framework of the Popular Mobilization Forces and under the supervision of the Iraqi security forces, and we will not allow any weapons outside the framework of the Government.
