H.E. Iraqi PM Dr. Haider Al-Abadi hold today a meeting with members of Al-Basra provincial council attended by the governor of Al-Basra Mr. Majed Al-Nasrawi and the president of provincial council Mr. Sabah Al-Bazuni.
H.E. listened to the views presented by the members on different issues related to this province. Dr. Al-Abadi affirmed the importance of uniting efforts to improve the condition of Basra referring to the necessity of supporting investment and developing its economic sector.
On the other hand H.E. mentioned that "Iraq is facing the challenge of Da'esh terrorist groups which aim at destroying the country and the region, and we need a security and intelligence support to eradicate terrorism, however, providing international support should not affect the sovereignty of Iraq.
