The two Iraqi and Kuwaiti ministerial delegations held a lengthy meeting to discuss cooperation between the two countries in various fields. The Iraqi delegation was chaired by PM Al-Abadi, while the Kuwaiti delegation was headed by Kuwaiti PM Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues such as security,, energy, investment, industry, transport, foreign relations, as well as the regional situation and the threat of ISIL terrorist gangs to security.
H.E. Dr. Haider Al-Abadi clarified the Iraqi government’s view with respect to foreign relations, bilateral cooperation and the security situation, referring to the positive atmosphere within the political realm in Iraq as a result of consensus among the three presidencies which will facilitate the achievement of governmental goals.
H.E. elaborated on the security situation and the threat of ISIL to the region and the world.
For his part, Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah commended the steps taken by Dr. Al-Abadi and applauded latest achievements, he then stressed on the importance of working on larger rapprochement with Iraq and strengthening bilateral cooperation to better serve the interests of the two countries.
Finally, It was agreed that talks between ministers of the two countries would pursue in order to reach agreements on issues that serve the interests of the two fraternal peoples.
