Prime Minister, Dr. Haider Al-Abadiordered to drop all publishing lawsuits filed by the Prime Minister’s Officeagainst reporters. This order comes as part of the Prime Minister's commitment to the freedom of expression and supportfor the press as being the fourth power, which analyses and evaluates the government's work. It also represents the PM's desire thatthe media takes a major role in theconstruction of the country and building a public opinion that serves the focuses of its citizens and emphasisesthe unity, stability and sovereignty of Iraq.
On this occasion, we call on the media and journalists to manifest responsible expression and contribute effectively to direct the work towards building truthful state institutions that the current government and the Prime Minister are seekingto achieve.Furthermore, the media that we trust very much, must become the tool that contributes to the delivery of what we want to achieveto our people.
