H.E. Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi receives Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa

His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi received Today on Tuesday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov and his accompanying delegation.

Mikhail Bogdanov conveyed a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev concerning the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries and congratulations to His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi on forming the government, underscoring Russia's support for Iraq in all fields.

During the meeting, they discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, economy, trade, energy, investment, training, and other fields, in addition to the situation in the region.

Bogdanov confirmed Russia's keenness on sustaining the long-term relationship with Iraq and joint coordination in various fields.

His Excellency Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and thanked President Putin and Prime Minister Medvedev for their congratulations, confirming that Iraq has an interest in strengthening its relations with Russia.


His Excellency reaffirmed that our foreign policy is to have good relations with all countries and keen to implement that policy.

His Excellency pointed out that Iraq is starting to recover, while its role will be greater and vital in the region.

Bogdanov delivered an invitation from President Putin to His Excellency Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi to visit Russia, while His Excellency presented an invitation to President Putin to visit Iraq.
